The Plainsman Herald's
Has been Removed
This page you are viewing once contained information about our local Newspaper, The Plainsman Herald, and it explained how someone from out of town could subscribe to our local paper. Basically it was for the purpose of Information, which is what this web site is all about. It was also free advertising for the Plainsman Herald.
Since 2001 I have maintained the SpringfieldColorado.com web site as a hobby and in an effort to help put Springfield Colorado on the Internet and to promote Springfield and Springfield business.
Today, on July 26, 2013, I received a phone call from the new owner of the Plainsman Herald, whom, at first, I was glad to hear from as I am always anxious to help local businesses any way I can, but he was calling to complain about a rumor he had heard that I was going around telling people I work for the Plainsman Herald. ( I guess he believed the rumor.)
He said "we have "a couple of issues".
He said that someone (unnamed) had claimed that I had been telling people I worked for the Plainsman Herald. He would not tell me who this person was. Whoever it was, they are mistaken. I have never claimed that.
So for the record, for anyone who is saying this, I do not work for the Plainsman Herald and I have never claimed to. I do gather news occasionally, FOR MY LOCAL NEWS BLOG, but I have never claimed to work for the Plainsman Herald.
The second "issue" he said "we" had was this page about the Plainsman Herald, (which has been on this site since 2001) and it has always contained information about the Plainsman Herald and instructions to people on how they could subscribe to the paper.
He was very angry and threatening to me over the phone, and demanded that I remove this page OR ELSE!
I guess his threats involve a lawsuit of some kind, although I don't know for sure what the reason would be. Perhaps I should get a restraining order just to be safe. He sounded angry.
In all honesty and for the purpose of full disclosure, I called him an *** hole before hanging up.
So because I don't want to get sued for giving his business free advertising, (or whatever he would be suing me for) I have decided to replace the information on this page with this article and my sincere apology for advertising his business for the last twelve years without his consent.
So go ahead and subscribe to the Plainsman Herald without any help from me. Its a great paper, and the only one we have.
In addition to my page, there are quite a few other web sites out there that have a page for the Plainsman Herald or mentions that name . I wonder if he is going to call them too. I know from experience it is not that easy to get those people on the phone.
Here are a few snipped from google. They are crammed full of advertisments too.
