Springfield is the county seat and largest town of Baca County in the southeastern corner of Colorado. It is on the Colorado high plains and is surrounded by generally flat to gently rolling farm lands. Springfield serves as the service and commercial center for the mostly agricultural area. Elevations range from 3800 to 5200 feet in Baca County.
