Equinox Art Show Results
The 14th annual Equinox Art Show showcased the 62 beautiful works of 25 artists Saturday in a wonderful display of talent.
The show was sponsored this year by Springfield Council for the Arts & Humanities-Baca Little Theater Group, Chubby’s, Plainsman Herald, Robin Ballard, Eddie & Joyce Ming, Everitt-Moore Lumber Co., Jim Howard-Farm Bureau Ins., Treasure Chest Mall, and Donna Dowell. We also had the help of Gloria Jean who put our entry forms on her web site springfieldcolorado.com, and the Colorado East Bank & Trust gave us the use of their copier for our mailing. We want to thank each of you for your donations, we couldn’t do it without you!!!

Awards:
Cash awards & Ribbons for 1 st place in each category, Best of Show (Pro), Best of Show (Non-Pro), Best of Show (Student), Peoples Choice Award.
Eligibility:
All work must be original and completed in the last three years. "Professional" is defined as having a degree in art, an income of $500 in the past year from the sale of art, or the desire to compete on this level. "Non-Professional" shall include all ages including students who do not wish to compete at the Professional level.
Art work entered must not have been exhibited in this art show previously.
Entry Fee:
Entry fees will be $6.00 for each
piece entered after the pre-entry
deadline.

If you pre-enter by mailing the enclosed entry form before September 10, the cost will be $5 for each piece entered. Changes in pieces may be made at show entry.

*Sculpture will be taken at the south door of the Baca County Courthouse from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm on September 21.
All works must be suitably framed with wire for hanging (we cannot accept sawtooth hangers).
Art Pick Up: All artwork must be checked out and picked up by the artist or their designee on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 4:00 pm.
Sales of Artwork: A commission of 20% will be charged on sales. Pieces are not required to be priced for sale.

The Judge:
Judge: Becky Anthony
Becky is originally from Fort Worth, where she began painting in 1965. She paints in watercolor, acrylic, and oil mediums; as well as being accomplished in china painting; bronze sculpture; and wood carving and painting. She has taught art to students since 1975, at the college level in Texas, and has had workshops in Texas, Colorado and New Mexico. Becky has written several books on painting western images as well as a china painting how to book. She has made her own porcelain molds for limited edition figurines. She is represented by galleries in Texas where she is noted for her wildlife and western art compositions. Becky and husband Mitch are enjoying their retirement now, traveling across the country in their motor home.
