This site was first published on the Internet In 2001, created from a small computer with 230 total megabytes of storage space and a dial up Internet connection. Today, that amount of storage space would not hold much. I remember having to search for programs that were made by hackers in low level machine languages just to be able to function.
My goal for this website now is simply to provide helpful information for people and travelers who are passing through this area and to improve the website as a service to the community and to people who have moved away and still want to see what is going on here or to people who are considering moving to a smaller town.
It takes a lot of time and interest to spend hours on the computer and sometimes I would rather be painting or lounging on the couch like my cat in this picture. But it is wonderful to have the Internet to reach out and see the world.
