Two From Texas Killed in Accident
10 miles North of Springfield.
Two people
were killed and one was injured as the result of a two vehicle accident ten
miles north of Springfield on January 13th, 2005.
Aida S. Arce, age 51, from
Plano Tx, was traveling northbound, in a 1998 Dodge Caravan, License number
B07nkh, when she lost control of the vehicle and it went into the oncoming
lane
colliding with a semi-tractor trailor, driven by Michael D. Neighbors, age 34.
Neighbors swerved to the right to avoid colliding with the Dodge and entered the
westbound shoulder, rolling one-quarter times. The driver of the Dodge
Caravan, Aida Arce was ejected from the vehicle and seriously injured and was
taken to Southeast
Colorado Medical Center. Passenger, Adalic
Perez-Gallegos, 47, was also ejected from the vehicle, but was pronounced dead
at the scene by the Baca County Coroner. A third passenger, Maria D. Varela,
was not ejected from the vehicle but was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Both Perez-Gallegos and Maria Varela were taken to Rich Funeral Home.
No injuries were sustained by Michael Neighbors.
